Last night I was asked by my wife what is love? This is the bedrock definition (and desire) of love that I know of, and that I rely upon—whether I’m in the highs or lows of life.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
— 1 Cor 13:4–7
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, generosity, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
— Gal 5:22
